MV Swallow - Dedicated Specialist Diving Platform

Subsea Services is able to serve the entire East African region with its dedicated specialist diving platform, MV Swallow.

With a maximum speed of 30 knots, Swallow is able to mobilise rapidly to any job quicker and more efficiently than any other solution in the region.

Capable of sleeping seven crew / divers, the Swallow can work longer hours more effectively than shore based diving operators.

Hull cleaning specific tools includes:

  • Pneumatic under water brushing tools
  • ARMADAHULL hydraulic hull cleaning brushing tools
  • ARMADAHULL hydraulic power pack allowing for multiple divers to work simultaneously
  • Aqua Dyne HP water jetting equipment

Diving tools includes:

  • Hydraulic grinding and drilling equipment
  • HP water jetting equipment
  • Airlifting equipment
  • Broco Torch
  • Underwater Welding equipment

  • Kirby Morgan 18 Band Masks (as required)
  • Air conditioning unit

MV Swallow Specification

Purpose built “Pakka” motorised diving platform

Propelled by twin motors and equipped with VHF radio and Echo sounders and GPS Pakka offers rapid cost effective mobilization in and around harbour. Hull cleaning or inspection services are done during normal shipping operations which is time and cost saving.

Pakka is equipped with ll ARMADAHULL hydraulic power packs, brushing tools and accessories. It can accommodate surface supplied diving for 4 divers, 4 diver tenders and 1 diving supervisor.

Privately owned base/yard

Subsea operates at the Comarco Base, a privately owned harbour fronting yard, near Mombasa Town. The base provides a facility unequalled on the East Coast of Africa and includes: open and covered storage space, office space and facilities, crawler cranes up to 150 tonnes capacity, a marine engineering workshop, a 24 hour operations centre and the ability to launch boats and operate divers at any time of the day or night.
